As part of the ongoing efforts to facilitate IT development of Hong Kong, CK has worked with the industry to set up dedicated taskforces on different IT issues. By coordinating the industry's efforts, these working groups aim to take the lead in making the public and government aware of the issues arising from the technological advancement and in proposing ways to tackle them.

Terms of reference:
In pursuit of Hong Kong ICT industry's aspiration to make Hong Kong as a strategic Information Communication Hub, the Working Group will reflect the industry's opinion to the Government on the steps to take to facilitate the opening up of new business opportunities in Mainland and overseas market. In particular, the Working Group will work out the proposal on the following areas:

  1. Hong Kong's positioning in national ICT development
  2. Tailor-made marketing strategies for Hong Kong ICT industries
  3. Cross-boarder research projects
  4. Participation of Hong Kong ICT industries in eGovernment projects of Mainland and overseas governments
  5. Promotion programme to attract overseas investment to Hong Kong ICT industries
