As part of the ongoing efforts to facilitate
IT development of Hong Kong, CK has
worked with the industry to set up dedicated
taskforces on different IT issues. By
coordinating the industry's efforts,
these working groups aim to take the
lead in making the public and government
aware of the issues arising from the
technological advancement and in proposing
ways to tackle them.
In light of the increasingly critical
impact that information technology
can have on the society, CK together
with five IT-related organizations
set up the working group in October
2004. The purpose of the working group
is to identify measures which are
to be taken at policy and regulatory
level to strengthen the overall standards
of information security in Hong Kong.
