Our ICT industry has shown great resilience in its recovery from recent challenges. The Governemnt, business community, academia, trade associations, professional bodies and IT professionals all play mutually supportive roles in advancing Hong Kong's ICT environment, and in driving new possibilities by the wider use of ubiquitous ICT technologies and application.
While 2005 was an excellent year, I nonetheless remain vigilant. I believe the volatility seen in recent years has taugh us much and left us better prepared to deal with challenges that may affect our ICT industry. Beyond my continuing efforts in making laws that are essential to an information-based society, and monitoring the performance of the Government, I have been actively pursuing new measures, not just from momentum but for growth in our ICT industries that can be sustainable in long run.
