Consumer Protection on Internet

Hong Kong has firmly established itself as a participant in the digital revolution. Broadband Internet penetration is extensive, making Hong Kong a truly wired society. However, the Internet has also brought new challenges, such as spamming, phishing and Internet piracy.

In order to educate users of the Internet on how to better protect themselves from such illegal activity, I and several IT bodies have co-organized the seminar with Business Software Alliance.

Fixed-Mobile Convergence Forum

With developments in convergence technologies and standards, the demarcation between fixed and mobile telecommunications markets will blur. The structure of the telecommunications industry in the near future will be quite different from what it is today. Since the administration would conduct a comprehensive review on issues related to convergence, telecom regulators and industry experts to give talks and discussions in this forum, focusing on the regulator's views and future development of Fixed-Mobile Convergence plus the latest development and licensing framework for Broadband Wireless Access.
