Qualification Framework

Education and Manpower Bureau (EMB) proposed to establish an Industry Training Advisory Committee for working on the details of the qualification framework (QF). (Details on QF / leaflet)

Before a consultation session was held in early May, I had discussion with officials of EMB. I support QF in IT sector because it helps both employer and employees - easily to know what kind of skillful manpower that the former want to employ, and what sets of skills that the later need to acquire. More importantly, QF can be the basis to support and speed up our work on IT professional registration / certification system.

Various IT bodies and I have established a taskforce on IT registration system since June 2003. I believe this task force should speed up the work to meet the changing environment. If you have any ideas on this topic, please drop me a few words to cksin@sinchungkai.org.hk.
