Rebuild Consumers' Confidence

On 12 Nov 2004, the OFTA published a voluntary Code of Practice for the Service Contracts for the Provision of Public Telecommunications Services, which provides a guideline on the drawing up of telecom service contracts.

Over the years , I have received a lot of complaints by the consumers against telecom companies. Most of these complaints are related to the services quality, conduct of the front line sales team, the customer services and in dispute with contract terms.

In order to rebuild the reputation of our Telecom industry, I sincerely urged all kinds of telecom operators, including FTNS operators, ISPs and ETS operators to join the newly issued Code of Practice, and provide more training to, and monitor the performance of the salespeople.
