Objectives
The Chief Executive, Mr. Donald Tsang, delivered the Policy Address 2006-07 in the Legislative Council on 11 October, outlining the Government's policy in the coming year. The Policy Address and Policy Agenda are of initiatives lay out the agenda in the IT and Telecommunications sector. In addition, the administration is drafting the consultation document on the 2007 Digital 21 Strategy, which is the fourth IT blueprint. Commerce, Industry & Technology Bureau (CITB) plan to launch a public consultation on the draft Strategy in the fourth quarter of this year and, to publish the Strategy during the first half of 2007.
The objectives of this important event are: (1) to provide a platform for the industry players, as well as the IT community, to express views on IT and Telecom related policy initiatives outlined in the Policy Address 2006-07 and, (2) to kick-off the industry discussion on the 2007 Strategy.
